Mannai, Microsoft and Qtel offer cloud-based solutions for Qatar’s SMEs

Mannai Corporation’s ICT group presented a set of its new IT and communication Cloud-based solutions and services for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Qatar together with its partners Qtel and Microsoft. This event was held during its ‘First End to End Cloud IT Solutions for the Private Sector’ event held at the Holiday Villa Hotels and Residence, Doha.

"With the Cloud, smaller budgets are no longer a hindrance to an SME’s ability to compete in the market with its peers and larger enterprises. SMEs can operate cloud based virtual servers and a host of applications that can be rapidly deployed and achieve a higher ROI," said Dr Sanjay Modak, Group General Manager, Mannai ICT Group.

SMEs can now obtain all their Qtel business products and services requirements from Mannai, which acts as a one-stop shop and brings a greater range of offers and value to the customer from both companies.

Microsoft and Qatar Foundation: Affordable software for students

Microsoft has come to an agreement with Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, to provide its students and community members with heavily discounted software. The initiative, named "Student Select", was set up to further Microsoft and Qatar Foundation’s dedication to delivering quality education in the country. By enabling students to utilize the latest Microsoft products at academic prices, the initiative aids students and teachers alike to reach their full potential.

All students have to do to access the most up to date Microsoft software is to log on to the web portal and order their digital copy downloads of the latest Microsoft products, including Microsoft Office Professional 2010. The cost is significantly cheaper, with a copy of Office costing just 255.5QAR instead of 1,821.35QAR.

Citrix VDI event at Doha, April 7

Mannai Trading, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner on Server Virtualization and many other competencies, held an event jointly with Citrix and HP on 7th April at the Intercontinental Hotel, Doha, Qatar. The event mainly focused on Desktop Virtualization.

Nabil Khalil, Deputy General Manager at Mannai, Alex Filocca and Raja Slaiman Haidar from Citrix, Rajat Rallan and Bechara from HP were some of the speakers at the event.

The event was well attended and gave us the opportunity to keep the Qatar customer community to be informed of the strategic alliance between Microsoft and Citrix in the VDI space.
