Trying to build a large number of Address Book Views from a CSV file. Is it necessary to have the whole list of msExchPurportedSearchUI attributes, or will it work with just the purportedSearch= argument?

Jerry Welch

I was pulling my hair out for most of the day trying to figure out how to resolve the "unexpected character" issue until I ran across this. I saved off the attribute settings, cleared the values, and now I'm able to proceed with the Exchange 2007 install.

Thanks!

Hi,

I noticed my default recipient policy had under purportedsearch value was (mailnickname=*).
I have another recipient policy called Flowers but the Purportesearch value was already set to NOt SET. I went ahead and cleared the default recipient policy to NOT SET and re-ran setup and got the same error message. I rebooted the mail server and retried again and same error message.
